Applying Your Labels
Your labels have been produced specifically for the requirements requested when placing your order.
Below are important basic preparations needed to ensure the best adhesion possible.Thoroughly Clean the Surface
With surfaces containing moisture, oil, dirt, release agents or other residue, your labels will not adhere well, if at all, no matter what adhesive is used.
Start with a thorough clean. Surfaces such as plastic, metal, glass, and woodwork are great with labels as long as they are clean, dry, smooth, and free of contaminants.
Mild detergent and warm water works is effective on most non absorbent surfaces but for stubborn residue, consider using rubbing alcohol (IPA) or de-greaser (with no silicone or similar additives). Ensure a spotless surface.
Dry the Surface and ensure the area has a smooth finish
Allow the surface to air dry completely. Do not apply labels to a damp surface as they may not stick properly.
Ensure the surface and labels are at room temperature
Sometimes, an application of heat will enhance adhesion. When used with caution, a hair dryer or heat gun can help labels adhere better, especially on contoured or uneven surfaces while smoothing out and applying pressure to the label.
Textured Materials
Textured materials such as wood, may need sanding to achieve a smooth surface. Sand the area, wipe away dust, and apply a smooth primer. This reduce imperfections and will also help to ensure a strong bond on unconventional surfaces.
Always Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure
